Tree of Peace Planting Ceremony
Imagining a world free of global conflict, the Museum and Memorial’s North Frieze challenges us to “…strive on to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations." This June, we commemorate the centennial anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Versailles with a “Tree of Peace” planting ceremony on the Museum and Memorial’s North Lawn, honoring the memory of those who perished in World War I. Presented in partnership with The Czech & Slovak Club of Greater Kansas City, The Consulate General of the Slovak Republic to the U.S. in New York, The Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic to the Midwest USA, The Slovak Republic Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs and The International “Tree of Peace Project.” .
