Enjoy a free workshop with award-winning jazz quartet, Catharsis, to learn about leading WWI-era African American musician and composer James Reese Europe. A major force in the development and exposure of black musicians and music in the early 20th century, Europe’s music continues to influence the world today. Open to all ages and skill-levels, this class will promote improvisational and original music-making and encourage participants to pursue their creative goals. Instruments will not be provided by AJM, but guests are encouraged to bring their own. FREE with RSVP | American Jazz Museum, 1616 E. 18 St.
